Like Many Other Events Across The Country, The Tennessee Scholarship Contest Is Being Rescheduled Due To COVID-19 Concerns

Due to the crisis of COVID 19 and the desire for candidates to have the best experience, including contests in front of a live audience, the Mystery 2020 Scholarship Contest, approved by the Miss America Organization, will be held on August 2-8, Canon Performing Arts Center in Memphis, TN.

It is the first time in over 60 years that the Mystery Scholarship Contest has been held in Bluff City.

The decision was made under the leadership of President Joseph Albright, after the Miss Tennessee Organizing Council agreed to organize Tennessee-wide competition instead of organizing it in one city.

This will ensure that Miss Tennessee has been disclosed throughout the state.

Last year, the contest was first held at Knoxville at the Thompson Bowling Arena on the University of Tennessee campus.

Briana Mason was crowned the first African American Miss Tennessee on June 29, 2019.
