The business behind international GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 mega-hits published their Q2 financials for the year and Take-Two there was some impressive reading in there.
Rockstar’s parent company records net sales up 74 percent year-over-year, bringing the publisher to $950 million in eye-watering net bookings.
There are several reasons why this year’s revenue stream is so high – Borderlands 3 and NBA 2K20, for example, are contributing factors – but it is still Grand Theft Auto V that is doing the heavy lift for Rockstar.

Thanks to a report by Jason Schreier, a reporter for Kokatu games, we heard that Rockstar may already be in the ‘early stages’ of development for its next GTA title, which will ‘start with a medium-sized release that is then expanded with regular updates over time, which can help mitigate stress and crunch.’
While Kokatu claims the project is “still early in progress,” at least get some insight into what Rockstar is working on is encouraging.
