Netflix is gonna filled with DC comics’ Sweet Tooth. An eight-episode series handed out by the streamer on Tuesday. Sweet Tooth of DC comics is ready to be adapted for Netflix by Robert Downey Jr’s production company.
Netflix has sponsored one-hour episodes of the comic (eight episodes), a live-action drama based on characters directed by Jeff Lemire, produced by Team Downey’s Robert Downey Jr. and Susan Downey. The streaming service announced Tuesday.
The Sweet Tooth series features storybook adventures of Gas, as per the to the official synopsis. Part deer, part boy- who has left his house in the forest to find the outside world ravaged by a cataclysmic event. He joins an incredible family of human and animal –children hybrids like himself in search of answers above such a new world and the truth behind his hybrid origins as per the makers.
The characters like Christian Convent, Nonso Anozie, Adeel Akhter, and Will Forte will star in the family-friendly series, with James Berlin attached to serve as the show’s nominator.
Co-creator Hap and Leonard, Jim Mickle, and Arrow Showrunner Beth Schwartz will serve as showrunners, producers, and writers on the upcoming series. Directer will be Mickel Amanda Burrell of Team Downey and Linda Moran also will executive produce alongside the Downeys.
The producer of series, Evan Moore, which hails from Warner Bros Television. Sweet Tooth serves as an early showcase, arriving at the tail end of Vertigo’s goldeneye, for Jeff Lemire who has since become an industry superstar. Lemire wrote and largely drew the 40 – issues epic that is often billed as a combination of Cormac McCarthy’s. The road and Disney movies like Bambi. So it would be interesting to see it on the small screen alongside many other DC Vertigo adaptations such as CW’s Zombie, AMC’s Preacher, and Netflix’s Lucifer.
