Four Vietnam war vets went in search of buried treasure and the remains of their former squad leader, played by Chadwick Boseman. Spike Lee moved his sights on Vietnam in his upcoming film Da 5 Bloods, premiering June 12th on Netflix.
The trailer on Monday will not disappoint set to the Chamber Brothers’ 1967 single “Time Has Come Today”, This an adrenaline-fueled clip that fierce together archival recording from the Vietnam War with two continuous stories concerning a group of old veterans.
The four African-American vets, plate by Delroy Lindo, Clarke Peters, Norm Lewis, and Isiah Whitlock, Jr have returned to Vietnam in the present day to search for the remains of their fallen squad leader, played by Boseman in past. But that is not the thing they want- somewhere in the jungle lies the buried treasure that their squad leader helped them hide in the past, around 50 years ago. They were curiously looking for gold, the four vets, battle against the forces of nature, and their trauma from the war during their quest.
Da 5 Blood also stars Melanie Thierry, Paul Walter Houser, Jasper Paakkonen, Johnny Tri Nguyen, Van Veronica Ngo, and Jean Reno. Lee has directed, wrote and produced the film, whereas credits for Danny Bilson, Paul Demeo, and Kevin Willmott of Co-writing too. Also, production credits go to Lloyd Levin, Beatriz Levin, and Jon Kilik.
So, Netflix debuts the trailer for spike Lee’s ‘Da 5 Bloods’. We must say and as we say before a film by Spike Lee is worth getting on cloud nine. Spike Lee has won many achievements in the Entertainment industry. Lee has won first Academy award in 2019 for his adapted screenplay of “Blackkklansman”, which also had nominations for best picture and best director.
