One Punch Man: Everything We Know So Far Regarding Live Action Film From Sony

Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinker will write a live-action film adaptation of Sony Pictures’ hit world manga series “One Punch Man”.

Avi Arad and Ari Arad of Aradh Production are producing the film.

Created as a webcomic by Japanese artist One in 2009, “One Punch Man” became increasingly viral. In 2012, it was published in Shueisha’s Young Jump Next with an accompanying portrayal by Yusuke Murata. The series had sales of over 30 million copies worldwide. When the English version published by VIZ Media debuted in the US in 2015, the first and second editions were featured on the New York Times manga bestseller list and nominated for an Eisner and Harvey Award. Since then, the popularity of “One Punch Man” has given rise to the critically acclaimed anime television series as well as a video and mobile game.

 

Experts say that Sony ranks high due to its popularity and ability to add another franchise to the portfolio.

Rosenberg and Pinkner have become Sony’s favourites after writing the hit “Venom”, which led to the upcoming sequel. He also wrote two photographs of “Jumanji” for the studio. The latest instalment, “Jumanji: The Next Level,” peaked last December and grossed $ 796 million at the worldwide box office.
