The Flash: Details On Production, Release Date, Casting. And More

The surprising news that Michael Keaton is in negotiations to return to his role as Batman not only in The Flash but in other DC movies as well, serving as a kind of Nick Fury-style mentor and recruiter for other superheroes, opening up the Doorway not only to a DC multiverse but to The Flash to bring back other established DC movie characters for appearances.

Two DC characters that seem to be obvious are Iris West and Henry Allen. Kiersey Clemons acted as Barry Allen’s romantic interest Iris, but it was cut from the original Zack Snyder movie when it was rebuilt by Joss Whedon. While fans can expect to see Clemons in HBO Max’s Snyder Cut next year, it would be quite possible that Iris will also appear in The Flash in a more prominent role.

Billy Crudup played Barry’s father, Henry Allen, in Justice League. The plot of The Flash is inspired by the Flashpoint comic series and will see Barry go back in time to try to stop his mother’s killer. So it would make sense for Henry to have a role in the movie.

But beyond these two characters, what others could appear in The Flash? Read on to discover some of the names we want to see as cameos or appearances alongside Michael Keaton’s Batman.

Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman

Last seen on a roof in Gotham City in Batman Returns, Keaton’s return could lead the way to bring Michelle Pfeiffer as Selina Kyle. Did they spend the past few decades fighting over Gotham’s roofs or did they end up together? With Alfred and Commissioner Gordon likely dead in this alternate universe (Actors Michael Gough and Pat Hingle are both deceased), Bruce would be pretty much alone – and Batman without allies. True since he never took a henchman in the Burton movies – unless Selina is in his life.

Marlon Wayans as Robin

The Flash Season 7 cast

Maybe they had never heard of this but Marlon Wayans was hired as Dick Grayson, the original Robin, in 1992 for Batman Returns but the character was taken out of history before filming began. How about we meet a now-adult Robin – or maybe he’s Nightwing now – in this parallel universe of nearly three decades after Batman Returns?

Vicki Vale

The fearless journalist photographer Kim Basinger was seduced by Keaton’s Batman in the original Tim Burton movie. While their relationship did not work out, it would be interesting to see her return to report on any intra-dimensional issues happening in The Flash.
