Release Date :
Nicknamed Gremlins: Mogwe’s Secret, the new show would date back 100 years before appearing in the 1984 feature film classic. Fortunately, fans won’t have to wait a century to check it out. Although the series is coming to HBO Max, it won’t be ready for the streaming service launch in May. However, as Hay confirmed in our interview, the show is still on the way for a 2021 release date. Perhaps the 2021 holidays, or perhaps the first quarter to correct the New Year? We don’t know yet, but sadly we’re in this calendar year for Gizmo & Co. You won’t be dating.
Gremlins: Raj of Mogwai will be produced by Amblin Television in collaboration with Warlin Brothers Animation. The series will be written by Tays Chun and Darryl Frank, along with executives (The American, Animeniax, Amazing Stories), Justin Feliway (The American, Animeniax, Amazing Stories) and Sam Register (Teen Titans Go !, and upcoming series). Choon and Brendan Hay (Dawn of the Croods, Robot Chicken, Harvey Girls Forever) are the co-EPs. Dan Kroll (Corleone, Scooby-Doo!) Will serve as supervising producer.
With a teenage street thief named Elle, Sam and Gizomi set out on a perilous journey through the Chinese countryside, encountering and sometimes fighting colourful monsters and spirits of Chinese folklore. In his quest to bring Gizmo back to his family and discover a mythical treasure, he is chased by a power-hungry industrialist and a growing army of evil Gremlins.
