mov %gs:0x0 segfault

I’ve been watching this particular mov for a while now. It’s a short movie in which the hero, Billy, is riding his bike and gets stuck in a snowstorm. It is not a good omen and I hope Billy never has to ride his bike in a snowstorm.

That’s all well and good, but let’s take a look at the code. It’s not a big deal. The mov is a part of the game’s engine. The “segfault” means that the game is crashing and the code is showing that.

The game’s story is a little rushed and feels like it was hastily put together. But it’s still quite fun. I’ve been a huge Deathloop fan for a few years now and I can’t wait to get my hands on the sequel.

It’s a time-looping stealth game, which makes it a bit of a novelty, but I suspect there will be other games that follow this formula. We know for sure that Deathloop isn’t the only game in this vein, but it is the first one that I’ve played that did it so well. It’s all about the stealth.

Its interesting how a game that is so heavily focused on stealth will have issues in some areas and then have those areas being the only places you can play. I’ve seen some games that completely ignore stealth or allow the player to run around in them and that works well, but Deathloop is a little more careful about the gameplay. The game is pretty straightforward in its combat and the stealth doesn’t rely on stealth until the very end.
