borderlands fatal error! address = 0x0 (filename not found)

This is a really weird error. It’s a kind of file-separator in which we are trying to insert a bit more information into the text of a text file.

A malicious file could be a file with a.zip extension but we don’t know what it would look like. It could be a file with an extension of *.zip (but the.zip extension is not required).

If you see something like this, it could be a corrupted file, a malware infection, or just something that got past the code check of your file system. Whatever the case, its an error that we cannot fix. The message is a bit confusingly written so we cannot really tell if it is a bug or just a mistake. A fix for the same error in the future might be possible, and hopefully the message will be more clear.

The only hope is to have your file in a safe location in your home. In the future you can get to your home and set up a clean, easy way to get to it. The only other way is to have your home safe and secure with our help. The next time you make the trip to our site, you can simply go to our site and go to the menu bar and select “My Home.

It is very possible that you might have created a file in your home that does not exist. If so, this is not a problem since we have a number of features to help find and repair it (and you can always do that with our help too). If you do not have a file in your home yet, you can always go to the My Home page and choose a file to be repaired.

In this case, we found a file in your home that is not in the same location as your saved save game. For example, if you had saved in the game at home, and then you loaded the game again, your home was not restored. We are aware of this and are working on a fix.

We know it’s been a long time since the last update, and we just want to let you know that we have had a lot of help with this and it looks like it is finally fixed. If you have any trouble locating your save in the new version, check your saved game folder (usually C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Local\Temp).

We sincerely apologize for the error, and we are looking into it. It is a simple yet a major bug and it was pretty easy to overlook.

A good bug fix is great, but it is not an apology. We have already fixed the problem and we are working on a new one. The issue should not affect any of your saved games, and we will not be updating the version in any other locations or folders. If you are still having trouble, please contact us at support@borderlands.com.
