invalid dstream.default_crypto_id (0x0) for encrypted volume

When I had a client that was having difficulty with an encryption issue in the guest account, I wanted to help. I was able to figure out the issue in under 30 seconds and fix the problem. My client had one of those “It’s not my fault, I’m not doing anything wrong” type of arguments. I suggested that he run the encryption process again.

When I asked my client about the problem, he said that he was running it on a guest account that was using a different encrypted volume than the one used by the main account. That’s odd because it should just be the same encrypted volume as the main account.

If the guest account uses the default encryption, why would it be using a different encrypted volume? Well, I suspect that they forgot to run the encryption again. If it’s not using the default, it could be an issue with the guest account’s encryption settings, which is what we were troubleshooting. Either way, we’re working on getting it back to use the default encrypted volume.

I’m not sure what the issue is here, but I have to go, but please let me know if you have any more questions.I’m going to leave you with some screenshots for your reference, but you can also check out the video here.

I’ll also check in on this later this morning and let you know what I find.

This is to make sure you have a proper password, but if you do, just give us a message in the upper right hand corner. If it ain’t broke, don’t worry about it.

The above is something i did when i was installing the game, but it was a major issue that needed to be fixed. The fix will be in the next version, but i wanted to mention it for future reference.

Now that I know my data is encrypted, I feel really, really bad. I was going to have to change the default settings in a new version of the game, but I would have really liked to have the default settings for this game. I think I will leave it the way it is.

The new default settings are a bit of a sore point with people that have had to deal with the new settings on their systems. The old default settings were broken from the beginning, so it was never really an issue. But people are now forced to change the default settings to something that was never really supposed to work, just feel more secure. This is something that I have to think about.

I’m not sure how I feel about setting this option when there is no good way to make it work. My issue is not that it’s broken. It’s just that the default settings are so broken that I don’t know what to do with this setting.
